Kipling Stanton is an out-of-work actor who tries to escape the glare of the spotlight by moving to smalltown Virginia. When he meets the slightly loopy girl next door, Cody Lang, he agrees to masquerade as her husband for a few days. But before long their sham relationship turns into a real one, and Kipling's falling head over heels for Cody. Is it romantic... or just plain crazy?
Ellen Fisher is a native Virginian who earned a bachelor's degree in history from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. She worked as an insurance underwriter for four years and earned her CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter) designation before she retired to have kids. Her three children are ages eight, five, and two, and she has a husband who embodies all the best features of romance heroes (even if he doesn't have muscles like a gorilla). In her extremely scarce spare time, Ellen likes to read romances, science fiction, and various other types of books. She listens to music ranging from the Eagles to Bach, and sings with her church choir (occasionally on key).
Ellen's first historical romance, THE LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS, was a nominee for Romantic Times' Reviewers Choice "Best American Historical Romance" award. In Affaire de Coeur's Reader/Writer Poll it was a finalist for "Best Overall Historical Romance," and Ellen was a finalist in the category of "Best Up-and-Coming Author."
