Lawyer Alexis O'Hara is tired of the dating, mating, then hating game. She wants to settle down, and this time she's not letting her heart get involved. So when her mentor Vincent Cathardy offers her everything she's ever wanted, she agrees to marry him. And by having the wedding at the world-famous Inn at Maiden Falls, she can almost guarantee her own happy ending. Only, it might not be the ending she's expecting....
Lawyer Dylan Greene thinks he's negotiating just another prenuptial agreement — until he learns that the bride-to-be is his first and only love, Alexis. And it's soon obvious that the chemistry between them is just as explosive as ever. Even after years apart, they can't keep their hands off each other. So why is Alexis so determined to go through with the wedding? And will Dylan be able to seduce her into saying no to Vincent — and yes to him?
Heather MacAllister lives in Texas and is married to her high-school sweetheart. Following the instructions in How to Get a Teen- Age Boy, and What to Do with Him When You Get Him by Ellen Peck, one of her all-time favorite books, she expressed an interest in his hobby - ham radio. He challenged her - learn Morse code and get her license, and he'd take her to the senior prom. She did, and currently sports her call sign, WB5RMA, on her car license plate.
Heather became addicted to romance novels in college, yet managed to graduate and become a music teacher. She still might be teaching if her sons hadn't kept running off babysitters. After taking pity on the child care industry, she quit teaching and began avoiding housework by writing during her sons' naptime.
Heather sold her first book to Harlequin in December 1989 and celebrated the publication of her 35th book in May 2003. Her romantic comedies have been translated into 25 languages and published in dozens of countries.
Before she was published, Heather was a five-time Romance Writer's of America Golden Heart finalist and won in 1989. Her published novels have been finalists for the RWA RITA award three times, and have won a Romantic Times Magazine award for best Harlequin Romance. 2001 saw her make her first appearance on the USA TODAY bestseller list.
When she's not writing, Heather spends her time collecting vintage jewelry, directing a handbell choir, watching fireworks displays, and killing plants. You can visit her online at www.HeatherMacAllister.com.
