Lord Andru has a claim. Five winters ago, he claimed Meah, a feisty warrior from the Red Star Clan. And it was five winters ago that she left him. The celibate life doesn't appeal to Andru, but no matter the women, none seem to be able to replace Meah. When a proposition arrives from the Neurian Nation, an offer to unite the daughter of that nation with Andru, Meah has to be found - or declared dead.
Meah knows she's been gone from her clan, and from Andru for way too long. It's time to return, and to settle down as Andru's claim. His infidelity bothers her, but her loyalty to her people is strong. She will walk beside Andru as his claim, and somehow keep her feelings and emotions in check when it comes to his promiscuity.
Returning to Gothman becomes more than a battle of will for Meah and Andru. Meah must deal with a woman from another nation who is being offered to Andru as his new claim, and also with Lord Gilroy, Andru's first commander, who is getting a rise out of more than her temper with his suggestive advances.
Decisions need to be made. Meah and Andru take each other on, battling for control, and peace of mind in their hearts, in this sizzling action-packed continuation of the Nuworld Saga.
All my life, I've wondered at how people fall into the routines of life. The paths we travel seemed to be well-trodden by society. We go to school, fall in love, find a line of work (and hope and pray it is one we like), have children and do our best to mold them into good people who will travel the same path. This is the path so commonly referred to as the "real world". The characters in my books are destined to stray down a different path other than the one society suggests. Each story leads the reader into a world altered slightly from the one they know. For me, this is what good fiction is about, an opportunity to escape from the daily grind and wander down someone else's path. Lorie O'Clare lives in Kansas with her three sons.
