Kathryn O'Brien just made the biggest mistake of her life. An apology won't fix this mess. She's lost her apartment and her job. It can't get much worse than this!
Or can it.
A letter in the mail changes her life. Leaving Detroit for Three Hills, Arkansas, Kathryn meets the twin she didn't know she had, and the man she knows is meant to be hers.
There's one problem.
Andy Adams, sheriff of Polk County, knows what kind of woman Kathryn O'Brien is. The worse kind. Rich and spoiled, picture perfect and made to please. A tramp. Someone who will take his heart and destroy it. And his ex-wife has already done that. There's nothing left to give another woman.
Kathryn is determined to grab a hold of this new life offered her, and make Andy a part of it. Seduction and a bit of lace are definitely in order. He will see her true soul, see that her heart is his, and that her mistakes in her past were just that.
Adventure and mystery, sexual suspense that burn through each page, make this one of Lorie O'Clare's best stories yet!
All my life, I've wondered at how people fall into the routines of life. The paths we travel seemed to be well-trodden by society. We go to school, fall in love, find a line of work (and hope and pray it is one we like), have children and do our best to mold them into good people who will travel the same path. This is the path so commonly referred to as the "real world". The characters in my books are destined to stray down a different path other than the one society suggests. Each story leads the reader into a world altered slightly from the one they know. For me, this is what good fiction is about, an opportunity to escape from the daily grind and wander down someone else's path. Lorie O'Clare lives in Kansas with her three sons.
